Marine oil vs motorcycle oil

How does a Marine oil differ with motorcycle oil??This is the question that many outboard users have been asking for. Some have the ideas that all oils are the same. However, they are WRONG!

Here are some differences : Outboard is a water cooled engine. It has different engine temperature and runs at higher RPM. It carry much more heavier load than motorcycle. It needs a perfect combustion. Hence, only marine oil can be used for outboard motor. Marine oil has been formulated, tested and certifed by NMMA for marine purposes.

Unlike outboard engine, motorcycle is air cooled engine and runs at lower RPM and carry small loads.

Improper type of oil may shorten the outboard engine life.

Get a proper marine oil for your outboard. It is a long term investment for your engine.
